Radio Links Stands Up to Cancer

On April 20th, the team at Radio Links got their Great British Bake Off on, to help raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer.

On the day team members came dressed down, and some entered cakes to be judged by our very own Paul Hollywood (Bill Pugh, Senior Consultant Engineer) and Mary Berry (Mark Wilson, Accounts Manager). The bakers made an assortment of cakes for the team to buy, from fresh cream cakes to double chocolate to Senior Service Engineer, Nigel Hennells daughter’s dairy free radio shaped cake.

It was a great atmosphere while the judges tried a slice of every cake, with the team waiting anxiously to be told who the winners are. After adding up all the scores, the results came in:

3rd place – Michelle Litchfield (HR/Office Manager)

2nd place – Dawn Reynolds (Accounts Executive)

1st place – Tom Jolly (Engineer) and Jenny Griffiths (Admin Assistant)

“Mary Berry famously stated that “It’s So Comforting To Have A Small Piece Of Cake. Just One Slice”. I disagree. With such high standards set by Radio Links employees, it was comforting to have “Many Slices Of Cake.” Commented Mark Wilson.

It was a wonderful day had by all, and the team by the end of it had been well and truly caked out! In total the team raised £200.
