TRAINEE JUNIOR TECHNICIAN

Job Description:

Based at our HQ in St Neots, Cambridgeshire and working in our busy Hire Workshop, the position entails the preparation of two-way radios for despatch to our hire customers, working under the supervision of the Hire Workshop Supervisor and liaising with Senior Technical Engineers.

You will learn skills such as radio programming, radio testing, fault finding and commissioning of communications equipment.

Carrying out stock checks as directed by management and ensuring the company’s quality standards and procedures are upheld.

Desired Skills:

This position will suit a college leaver with qualifications in electronics, who is looking to gain experience in the work environment, or, alternatively a person with an interest in radio communications/electronics.

A full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.

A positive work ethic and a desire to learn.

Attention to detail and good communication skills.

Flexibility in working hours.

Benefits:

20 days holiday per annum, pro-rata to start date (exclusive of Bank Holidays), Plus Christmas shutdown (approx. 9/10 calendar days).

Workwear provided.

Employer contributed Pension Scheme (subject to current legislation)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm with an hour for lunch.

Overtime available in busy periods.

Holiday restrictions apply in summer period.

Salary:

The position will be offered on minimum wage for first six months then salary review according to progress.
